Uses
Shredded Coconut is an ideal topping on cakes, pies and ice cream desserts. It is the key ingredient used in macaroons. Toast shredded coconut to round out its flavor. It is especially popular in South Asian cuisine, where shredded coconut adds sweetness to breading for shrimp, fish and chicken.
Selection, Storage & Handling
Store shredded coconut in a cool, dry place where it will last a month or freeze in airtight container for up to a year.
