Uses
This is variety of Habanero that has been bred by careful selection to produce a hotter, heavier, and larger fruit that the original. The result is a pepper that is twice as hot as a regular Habanero or, for perspective, some 65 times hotter that a Jalapeno Pepper!
The variety is considered one of the hottest chile peppers in the world.
Use the Red Savina sparingly in salsas, chutneys and hot sauces. Product of California.
Selection, Storage & Handling
Choose peppers with a bright, shiny skin and no bruises or soft spots. Use rubber gloves when handling any hot pepper; avoid exposing to skin or touching eyes. Wash chiles thoroughly, dry, wrap in paper towels and store refrigerated for up to two weeks.
