Uses
Melissa's Purple Asparagus has a wonderful texture with a sweet flavor, just like the green variety. Purple Asparagus is a delicious treat, considered a delicacy by many. The succulent taste of this vegetable is impossible to describe, but once tasted its succulent flavors will keep you coming back for more. Asparagus is wonderful served cold in a green salad or bean salad, as well as served hot in many ways. Try asparagus with butter, cheese of your choice and a little seasoning broiled or baked. Enjoy Melissa's Purple Asparagus with either hollandaise sauce or dill. It is also great blanched and served with dips.
Selection, Storage & Handling
Melissa’s purple asparagus should be picked fresh with a firm touch and compact tips. Diameter of spear does not matter; a small crisp spear offers the best taste. Asparagus will keep for up to seven days in the refrigerator wrapped in a wet paper towel. Serve promptly for best flavor.
