Uses
The name of this variety refers to its extremely high sugar content when compared to other Fuyu persimmon varieties. The Sweet Pumpkin persimmon is ready to eat when it is firm, like an apple. Because of its sweet flavor this variety can be cooked or candied as well as eaten as a hand fruit. Organic produce is grown with no chemical pesticides or fungicides and third party certified as being organically grown in accordance with the guidelines mandated by the USDA's Organic Foods Production Act of 2002. Selection, Storage & Handling
Look for fruit that is hard, with a smooth, pale orange skin with no bruises or exterior scarring. Perishable fruit should be refrigerated at all times to insure freshness, flavor and shelf life.
