Uses
Lee Mandarins are a hybrid between the Clementine and Orlando Tangelo. Melissa’s Organic Lee Mandarins are small and have a deep orange rind and only a few seeds, if any. These taste most similar to Clementines, with a high sugar and low acid level. Lee Mandarins are best when eaten fresh out of hand with their easy zipper peel. They are, however, available for only a limited season of a few weeks in the winter. Lee Mandarins can be served with meats, such as chicken and fish. Or peel, cut, and serve in a spinach salad with Jicama and a mild vinaigrette.
Selection, Storage & Handling
Choose fragrant Lee Mandarins with good coloring and avoid soft spots. Lee Mandarins should be stored in a cool and dry place, and they should last up to ten days when stored properly.
