Uses

The Dapple Dandy Plumcot looks very much like a small, red dinosaur egg because of its artfully speckled appearance. Their thin-skin is a vibrant pinkish color freckled with maroon spots. The inside is even more precious because the rich, red flesh tastes like a combination of plum and apricot. This variety of plumcot is exceptionally sweet and indescribably good. Not only is the taste better because they are grown without the added use of artificial fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides, but they are picked when the proper sugar content has developed so that they deliver an exceptionally sweet flavor. This is truly a wonderful blend of color, beauty, and lip smacking taste.

Selection, Storage & Handling

They may bruise easily when ripe, so handle with care. To ripen Dapple Dandies, keep at 65 - 70ยบ. They are ripe when they give to gentle pressure. Note: Dapple Dandies and other plumcots are sensitive to ethylene producing fruits and vegetables.
