Uses
These are regular green onions that have been allowed to develop a large, bright white blub. The tips of this variety are naturally yellow to brown and the onion itself is much hardier compared to common green onions. Great for grilling whole and sometimes even marketed as a BBQ Onion; this variety has the same mild flavor as all green onions. Mexican Green Onion’s robustness make them especially suited for recipes calling for long simmering. Product of Mexico.
Selection, Storage & Handling
Look for a bunch with crisp, firm leaves that are uniform green, with crisp, hard bulbs. Avoid discolored, slimy, or wilted leaves. Will store for 3 days in a home refrigerator crisper.
