Similar to the Mexican lime in size and shape (about the size of a ping pong ball), the Key Lime is smaller, more fragrant and less acidic than a lemon, but contains more seeds. Used in many tropical cuisines throughout the world, limes are a staple of Mexican, Caribbean, Central and South American, African, Indian, Middle Eastern, Southeast Asian and Pacific Island cooking. A squeeze of juice from a Melissa’s Key Lime will enhance the flavor of many dishes including chicken and fish, as well as vegetable soups. Add Key Lime slices to marinades, sauces and fruit salads and of course, in making the world-famous Key Lime Pie.
