Uses:
The Keitt Mango is a large-sized mango, similar to the Haden variety. Although they are fully green when ripe, the flesh of the Keitt will be soft to the touch. The Keitt is left on the tree longer than other varieties, producing a very sweet fruit, and their texture is less fibrous. Mangos contain enzymes useful for tenderizing meats and which also act as a digestive aid. Keitt Mangos may be added to salads or used in vegetable or poultry dishes, although they are exceptional when simply eaten out of hand.
Selection, Storage & Handling:
Melissa's Mangos are hand selected for excellent quality. Choose fruits that are firm, have unblemished skin and a fresh scent. Since mangos are usually sold firm, leave at room temperature for a few days to soften until yielding to gentle pressure. Refrigerate once ripe for up to a week or more.
Wash. Peel and cut fruit away from the huge, flat seed in the center.
