Uses

It makes a great fruit snack or, because of its small size and low water content, maintains its shape for baking in dessert recipes.

Selection & Storage

Good-quality Italian Prune Plums will have a cloudy film on them, similar to a blueberry, which is the fruits natural protection against moisture. Choose fairly firm to slightly soft fruit. The coloring will be deep-purple with a red blush and will darken to black as they ripen. Avoid product that is extremely hard or has brown skin discolorations.
