Horseradish, (one of the five bitter herbs of the Jewish Passover) is grown mainly for its large, white, hot and spicy flavored roots. Usually crushed or grated and made into a sauce, this root vegetable is now available from Melissa’s in two convenient pre-packaged 4 oz. jar varieties: Melissa’s Grated Horseradish Extra Hot & Cream Style Horseradish. Delicious with vegetables, seafood, poultry, or meat, Melissa’s Grated Horseradish Extra Hot can be served as a condiment and combines well with sandwiches, burgers, seafood sauces, salads or dressings. Mixed into cocktail sauces or with potato, macaroni or tuna salads, Melissa’s Cream Style Horseradish can also add zest to sandwiches and burgers and may be used as a substitute for mustard or mayonnaise.
