Uses
Most familiar canned or dried, fresh Garbanzo Beans (aka chickpeas) are an altogether different eating experience. The nutty green beans are each enveloped in a thin, papery skin; simply sauté, steam or boil with skin on and then pop the bean out of its wrapper with a squeeze. For a great finger food add a little salt and pop; similar to an edamame pod and just as addictive! Fresh Garbanzos are a favorite of Hispanic and Middle Eastern consumers. The bean can be mashed into dip, used to make falafel or just tossed into a salad. Delicious and nutritious!
Selection, Storage and Handling
