Uses
Melissa’s English Peas are common peas, also known as garden peas or green peas. These peas are what you might be used to seeing frozen or out of a can, and occasionally fresh. English peas are very delicious fresh from the store. Bright green, round and small in size, these peas will be tender and sweet when ripe. Melissa’s English Peas are surrounded by a large green bulging pod, similar to a sno pea, but much larger. Unlike sno peas, only the interior small round pea is eaten, as the pod is not edible. Melissa’s English Peas are delicious served with a bit of butter, seasonings and slightly steamed. Peas are a wonderful side dish and provide great color to the plate. The sweet flavors of Melissa’s English Peas compliment meat dishes, potatoes and are a great addition to casseroles. Enjoy chilled peas in a tossed salad for a sweet treat.
Selection, Storage & Handling
Melissa’s English Peas should be picked when firm and bright in color without wilting. Fresh peas must be cooked and will store raw up to seven days.
