Uses:

Dried fruits came to America by way of early European settlers. Medieval Europeans placed apples in warm ovens, then peeled, cored and hung them in wreaths from their kitchen ceilings to complete the drying process. Today, California is the main producer of dried fruit. Although some fruit is now artificially dried, sun-drying is still the favored technique. Six pounds of fresh fruit will produce one pound of dried fruit, yet because dried fruit is sweeter and richer in flavor than fresh fruit, it has become an invaluable ingredient in baking and desserts. Dried cherries offer a wholesome, low calorie snack right from the bag or use them in cakes, cookies and stuffings.

Sweet, tender, and full of flavor, just like the fresh varieties. One taste of these natural treats, and you'll never want ordinary snacks again. Includes Dried Bing Cherries (3 oz), Dried Rainier Cherries (3 oz), and Dried Tart Cherries (3 oz).

Selection, Storage & Handling:

Melissa’s Dried Cherries are hand-selected for excellent quality. Drying a ripe fruit will cause it to lose most of its moisture and accumulate natural sugars, thus allowing Melissa’s Dried Cherries to keep almost indefinitely.

Testimonials

"Thank you for the wonderful product offerings that you sell. I have been buying your products for years and am finally getting around to writing you and telling you so. I love the specialty produce that you sell (baby fingerling potatoes, etc) and also the dried fruits and such. The dried cherries make the best scones ever! I just wanted you to hear from a very happy and satisfied Melissa's consumer! Please keep up the great work. If you have a mailing list for coupons I would love to be put on that. Suzanne Phillips Monroe, NC "
