Description
The D’Agen Sugar Plum is a petite, high sugar variety named for a town in the south west of France, a region known for its high quality fruit. When ripe, d’Agen plums are deep purple on the outside and rich amber yellow on the inside; the fruit has a meaty texture and distinctly sweet flavor. The D’Angen is prized for its culinary range as it can be used as a key ingredient in both sweet and savory dishes. This fleeting delicacy is available for only a short time during the month of March.
Selection & Storage
Select unwrinkled, smooth-skinned fruit that is free of soft spots. Refrigerate ripe plums in a plastic bag and use within four days. Wash just before using.
