A welcome addition to the large variety of Fruit Munchies available from Melissa’s, Crystallized Ginger (also known as Candied Ginger) is a confection that adds flavor to stir-fry dishes, sweet sauces and desserts. A favorite of Oriental markets, but also found in many supermarkets, Melissa’s Crystallized Ginger is actually a product of Thailand that is used sparingly throughout Asia (its origin). Made from stem ginger, candied, and coated with cane sugar, Crystallized Ginger from Melissa’s is excellent dipped in dark chocolate or served with juicy Asian Pears. Similar to the flavoring of ginger root, Crystallized Ginger is spicy-sweet and may also be used as a cooking decoration.
Selection, Storage & Handling:
Crystallized Ginger from Melissa's is hand-selected for excellent quality. Since the process of creating Crystallized Ginger will cause it to lose most of its moisture and accumulate natural sugars, Crystallized Ginger from Melissa's will keep almost indefinitely.
