Uses:
Today, the most well known grains include barley, corn, millet, oats, rice, rye, wheat and wild rice. Melissa’s "Grains from Around the World" line includes Indian Basmati, Moroccan Couscous, Middle Eastern Tabbouleh, and South American Quinoa. Melissa's Couscous is granular semolina, a coarsely ground, high-gluten Durum wheat (often used to make fine pasta). A staple in North African cooking, couscous is a light grain with a nutty flavor. It is wonderful on its own as a side dish, in a salad, or added to soups or stews. Also try cooking in milk, and then add sugar and dried fruit for an instant breakfast cereal.
Selection, Storage & Handling:
Melissa’s Couscous is hand-selected for excellent quality. Store individual packages in a cool, dry place out of direct sun. Properly stored, Melissa’s Couscous will stay in prime condition for 6 to 9 months. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator or for longer storage, store in the freezer.
