Uses
Plumcots are a hybrid mix of plum and apricot, which predominantly retains the characteristics and flavor of a plum with slight apricot undertones. Sugar Jewels are red with a green hue and yellow flesh. They have a high sugar content as their name implies. Product of California.
Selection, Storage and Handling
May bruise easily when ripe; handle with care. To ripen Plumcots, hold at 65 - 70°. They are ripe when they give under gentle pressure. Note: Plumcots are sensitive to ethylene producing fruits and vegetables.
