Uses:
Melissa’s Brussels sprouts look like miniature cabbages and are very eye-catching. Tasting similar to regular cabbage, these darling fresh nutty-flavored sprouts have a solid and dense texture. Brussels sprouts on the stock are the best way to have the freshest Brussels sprouts available! Five common types of Brussels sprouts include Rampart, Content, Oliver, Rowena, and Valiant. Each variety has its own time preference in the fall and winter to appear. The average consumer cannot tell the differences among any of these varieties in taste or appearance. Simply steam Brussels Sprouts for 12-15 minutes and add a little butter for a great side dish or snack.
Selection, Storage & Handling:
Store Melissa’s Brussels Sprouts unwashed and in a plastic bag in the refrigerator. Brussels Sprouts will last for four to five days while increasing in flavor. Choose Brussels Sprouts that are dark green and small, the smaller the better.
