Uses:
Brussels sprout stalks showcase this little vegetable, which resembles a miniature cabbage, in rows that are securely attached to a fat stocky stem or stalk. Somewhat similar to the taste of cabbage, the flavor is slightly milder. These fresh nutty-flavored sprouts have a solid and dense chewy texture. This remarkable little vegetable was discovered in 1820 by a gardener who worked for the king of Belgium near Brussels.
Selection, Storage & Handling:
Look for bright green orbs that are firm and tightly packed. Avoid those with yellow leaves, soft spots or black discoloration. Refrigerate stalk (anywhere you can fit it) up to 14 days.
