Uses:

Of over 100 varieties of bamboo, a native of Asia, only about ten or so are grown for their edible shoots. Melissa’s tender, crisp, ivory Bamboo Shoots are harvested as soon as they appear above the ground, while still young.

Extremely popular in China and Asia, Bamboo Shoots can be boiled, sautéed, or steamed as an accompaniment to meat or fish. Braised in soy sauce and spices, sliced. Bamboo Shoots are often served as appetizers or added to soups, stews and various other Asian dishes. Melissa’s all-new 12/7.5 oz. tubs of sliced Bamboo Shoots lock in freshness and is shatterproof.  Melissa’s Sliced Bamboo Shoots are ready to be used in salads, soups or stir-fries. No other preparation is needed.
