    Uses:

The Aloe Vera plant produces a succulent, gray-green, prickly leaves and a flowering stem which grows to reveal attractive, bell-shaped orange or yellow flowers. A gel is obtained by crushing the leaves. This extract is used as a clear protective seal for wounds and encourages skin regeneration. Surprisingly, the common aloe plant is a member of the lily family, the same family that includes garlic and onions. Aloe Vera is very popular in the Latin community and is commonly used for burns and scrapes. Favored as a hair conditioner in Java, residents there claim it stimulates hair growth when rubbed into the scalp. A frost-free environment is necessary for its cultivation. Mexican and American Indian communities still use it for kidney and bladder infections, ulcers, longevity, and even as an aphrodisiac, just as their ancestors did.
